  • Examine the color scheme of the room and create your gallery wall, based on this
  • Allow for some asymmetry, it’s not fun if all artworks hang exactly where expected
  • Feel free to mix and match different art genres and techniques such as photo art, paintings and illustrations

  • By placing a group of a smaller amount of artworks – tightly – on a large wall – you get an eye-catching effect
  • Vary artworks in more subtle tones with works that convey a bolder contrast
  • Placing art pieces over a corner side, creates for an interesting composition

  • Placing artworks along an invisible line, but with a break, creates an interesting overall feel
  • Sync particular colors, picked up in the artwork, with one or more interior design details to enhance the dynamic relation
  • By mixing bold and pop colors with the earthly tones in the interior design – the room settles with a natural harmony

  • Try playing with the placement of artworks in relation to the furniture so that these establish a soothing communication
  • Consider the possibility to allow for one artwork to contrast, in a complimentary color
  • It may be effective to pick up a color scheme from the interior and paint one or more frames, based on these set colors
