Like a tree, there comes a time where we must accept letting go for us to flourish once again. The painting also serves as a symbol of a wounded heart. Colors have been applied to representing actual bruises. The branch itself is a symbol of the coronary arteries of the anatomical heart. The sky is hope. Layers of plaster have been left to give an impression of healed scar tissue on skin.
