Julia Frostensson, born in 1997 in Stockholm and raised in Umeå, is a contemporary painter currently based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Her practice centers on large-scale abstract works, created through a mixed technique involving acrylic paint, oil pastels, oil sticks, graphite pencils, and ink. Frostensson’s approach emphasizes process and material, resulting in compositions that encourage quiet attention and slow looking. Her use of texture, layering, and contrast invites the viewer to explore each surface closely, revealing subtle shifts in tone, form, and rhythm.
