Katarina Wetter-Edman is a Swedish contemporary artist whose practice is rooted in painting while drawing on a long-standing engagement with design and inquiry. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Industrial Design, a PhD in Design, and is Associate Professor (Docent) in Design. Rather than existing as separate fields, her artistic and academic practices inform one another through a shared interest in perception, materiality and the relationships between people, places and systems. Her practice inhabits the space between the visible and the yet-to-be-articulated. Rather than illustrating an idea, her paintings create a place where the viewer can encounter movement, presence and transformation. She lives and works at Bärsta Gård, just outside Örebro, Sweden.
