About

I am a contemporary artist based in Stockholm, Sweden.
My artistic journey began in the 1980s during my studies in Moscow, where I immersed myself in classical painting. Today, I blend these traditional techniques with a personal style that has evolved over time and reflects my inspirations and experiences. I work in acrylic, gouache, oil, and ink, painting still lifes, landscapes, nature motifs, and portraits.
Since the 1980s, I have also developed experience in designing, sewing, and creating clothing.
My daughter has followed in my creative footsteps and studied accessory design in Italy. She now lives in Los Angeles.

Inspiration

I often draw my inspiration from the beauty of nature, the moments of everyday life, simple joys, museums, and the places I have visited and lived in.
Art is my way of expressing the beauty of life and nature, and my work continues to evolve through new impressions, travels, and ongoing exploration.

I am currently working on a creative project together with my daughter, Dariya Repina. We have a joint website, www.studiorepina.com, where we showcase both our past works and upcoming projects.
Our new project will include art prints on design items and accessories, bags, some limited-edition fashion pieces, and more. The project combines visual art and design, reflecting our shared creative vision as well as our multicultural background.

I primarily work with oil, gouache, acrylic, and ink on canvas and paper. I often combine brushwork with finger painting to create texture, movement, and expression. Light, atmosphere, and layering play an important role in my process, giving each work depth and life.

My painting process usually begins with inspiration. I often start by sketching small ideas, and for still lifes, I sometimes arrange a composition. I work in layers, using both brushes and fingers to create texture and depth. I often let the painting develop naturally, guided by intuition rather than a strict plan. Each layer adds movement and emotion.
