Inspiration

People - social interaction, modern problems, emotions. Also nature is a great source of my inspiration. My own philosophical thoughts bring me many subjects to look closer at and put them onto canvas.

I have graduated from Milan Art Institute’s Mastery Program. I also did single courses in Sweden as a part of adult education such as: “Bild 1,2,3”, “Grafisk Illustration 1,2”.

I am currently working on a series called “The Way To Freedom” which includes 10 paintings representing my understanding of getting to the moment that we feel free. I am going to participate in Konstrunda Hässelby-Vällingby in October, I am going to have my solo exhibition during the charity event organised by Indian Institute Sewa, in November. And I am still looking for a right place to exhibit my project “The Way To Freedom”.

I mostly use oil paint but sometimes it is also acrylic paint and pastels or acrylic markers or ink. I create on cotton canvas where the smallest size is 30x40 cm and the biggest 100x100cm.

I first start with the idea. It comes to me in the most unexpected moment. Then, once I know what I am going to paint, I start to collect all possible sources in form of photographs. I take my own photos or just use some from Internet as an inspiration for example of colours or composition. Then I work in photoshop, where I put all my sources into one piece and decide on colours and composition. I very rarely do a sketch on paper. Depends on the technique that I use, I sketch on canvas with a pencil or work with subtractional painting method. It happens very often that in the middle of the painting I change some colours. I need to feel that this painting is just right for me. Once I am satisfied I let it dry and then after some time I varnish it. The average time of creating one painting is 20 hours.
