About
Marcus Larsson is a Swedish multidisciplinary artist based in Stockholm. He works across acrylic, oil, and digital media, drawing on a background in visual art, design, and photography. His practice bridges classic painting traditions with contemporary pop art and modern visual culture, resulting in vibrant, layered works defined by bold color and strong painterly presence.
Before fully dedicating himself to visual art, Larsson founded the premium menswear brand Ljung® in 2007. His artistic career gained early momentum in London before he returned to Sweden and established his studio on Narvavägen in Stockholm. Alongside his studio practice, he also creates private commissions inspired by specific places, journeys, and personal moments.

Inspiration
Larsson draws inspiration from contemporary lifestyle scenes, travel, photography, pop music, hip-hop culture, and the Stockholm street art scene. These influences merge into an aesthetic that balances modern visual language with a timeless, calm expression. His work often celebrates presence, shared moments, and the understated beauty found in everyday experiences set within iconic landscapes
Larsson has a broad creative background within visual art, design, and photography. His artistic development has been shaped through both formal studies and professional practice, combining technical training with hands-on experience across multiple creative disciplines.
His work seamlessly integrates traditional painting techniques with digital processes. Acrylic and oil are often combined with photographic elements and digital manipulation, allowing Larsson to build complex compositions that move fluidly between the analog and the digital. This hybrid approach pushes the boundaries of contemporary painting while maintaining a strong connection to classical methods.
Larsson’s process typically begins with photography and digital sketching, where composition, color, and rhythm are explored. These digital foundations are then transferred to fine art paper and developed through layered painting using acrylic and oil to create depth, texture, and movement. The final result is a giclée print on paper, released in a signed and numbered edition, capturing moments of stillness, motion, and atmosphere within contemporary lifestyle settings.
