About
My name is MØRFY. I am an artist based in Sweden but I am originally from Denmark, where I grew up. Ever since I was a little child I have found my escape through pen and color, feeling the happiest creating. For as long as I can remember I have found the world to be a loud and overwhelming place, but nothing is louder than my own brain. Thoughts come constantly flooding in and steal my focus, but nothing can interrupt my focus when I paint. It is where I find my inner peace.

Inspiration
In my work I tackle themes surrounding religion, and the accompanying religious trauma and deconstruction, mental wellbeing, sexuality, gender roles and norms. My work is heavily inspired by my lived experiences, questions and critiques to society, humanity, politics and the more-than-human world.
I love to put a whimsical and silly spin on heavier topics.
I am a self taught artist. I have a Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts in design and I am graduating in 2026 with a Masters degree of Fine Arts in design from Linnaeus University.
My work was exhibited in collaboration with Artist Arena in Stockholm during Spring 2026.
My work will be shown at a local record store, @monovaxjo, in March 2026.
Until then I spend my days painting, expanding my portfolio as well as working to set up an online shop.
I am currently open for and looking forward to doing further projects and collaborations.
It is tricky for me to clarify which techniques I use as I am self taught. I usually discover the techniques and methods as I go, with a playful and explorative approach. I am messy, I am curious, I am clumsy, expressive and I go with the flow.
After prepping the canvas I usually lay out a base color, I try not to plan or think too much during the initial phase. I like to lay out large and bold strokes to encapture what I need to transfer from my body to the canvas, like journaling, only with painting I manage to go deeper. As I go I start to make sense of my feelings. I start to process and shape the painting, finding patterns and shapes and often characters that embody my emotions. From here I define and build up the image, and lastly I polish the piece using mixed media such as markers, gel pens, fine liners and oil pastels.
