Inspiration
My inspiration comes from people, their emotions, relationships, and the stories hidden within everyday life. I am deeply inspired by the rich visual language of South Asian and Mughal miniature painting, while also exploring contemporary themes and ways of expressing human experiences. I am particularly interested in gestures, body language, repetition, balance, and the subtle emotions visible in human interactions. My surroundings, cultural heritage, and observations of society continuously influence my artistic practice.

My painting process begins with developing an idea through observation, sketches, and composition studies. I carefully prepare the wasli surface before transferring the drawing and building the image gradually through multiple layers of finely applied gouache.
Traditional miniature painting requires patience and precision. I work with fine brushes to develop delicate details, textures, patterns, and subtle variations of colour. Each element is carefully considered in relation to the overall composition.
While my process is rooted in traditional South Asian and Mughal miniature techniques, I also incorporate contemporary themes, simplified forms, repetition, and expressive human figures. The process is slow and meditative, allowing the painting to develop organically through attention to detail and balance.
