About
My name is Renata Edin. I live and work in Gothenburg, Sweden. I studied art at Dômen Art School, where I took painting courses with Tulan Fink as my mentor.
My art leads you into a world of myths, fairy tales, or dreams, that other, hidden layer of reality. I wish that my pieces of art should be beautiful, tell a story, and evoke emotions in a captivating way. Beyond adding a touch of luxury to an interior, I want my art to evoke feelings of comfort in its viewers. They should be drawn into the world of symbols, decipher the meanings of the works, and engage in hours of conversation.

Inspiration
My sources of inspiration are classical romantic paintings, contrasts, shadows, and light shining through darkness. In my art, I use elements of romaticism, impressionism, surrealism and symbolism. Nature, landscapes, animals, and people are symbols that convey a deeper meaning hidden in the painting.

Acryl om canvas
An idea for a painting can come after I have read a book, heard a song, watched the news, spent time with family and friends, or dreamed. Figures and various symbols emerge that I try to capture in a good composition using a pencil and sketchbook. When I am satisfied with the composition, I choose the best canvas format for the painting and start painting. During the painting process, I use the principles of color theory to give the composition expression, depth, and atmosphere.
