About
My name is Asal Ravanbood
and I am a self taught contemporary abstract expressionist artist.
My work explores contrasts, intuition, and emotions that cannot always be expressed in words.
After 22 years as a hairstylist, I’ve developed a sharp eye for detail, balance, and expression skills that now shape my artistic process.
I began painting four years ago, and my ambition is to create art that moves, raises questions, and allows every viewer to find a part of their own story within my work.

Inspiration
My inspiration comes from human relationships, energy, and the inner struggles we all carry.
I am inspired by contrasts between strength and vulnerability, chaos and control.
I am a self taught artist and have also worked as a hairdresser for over 23 years. This experience has given me a strong sense of form, color, and detail qualities that clearly influence my painting.
I had my debut exhibition at
Home Hotel Kompaniet in Nyköping last week, which was a great success. It was the first time I finally dared to share my art with the public.
I work with acrylic, clay, and impasto. I enjoy challenging myself and have a fairly diverse range of techniques.
I paint intuitively, layer by layer, working with contrasts, textures, and emotions.
