About
I am 37 years old and a self-taught artist from Gothenburg. Today I live with my family in the south of Sweden. When I was young I painted a lot and was determined to become an artist, but somewhere on the path of growing up I lost that goal. Since then I have been occupied with other artforms, mainly music. About a year ago I rediscovered painting, and now I have the means I was lacking before, emotional drive, focus and courage to pursue painting. My goal is to transition from my current job into painting.

Inspiration
I draw inspiration from nature, and from my childhood experiences by the ocean. With painting I am trying to build the gap to myself as a child. I also draw inspiration from the relationship between nature and rationality. I believe that the drive in our society to overcome nature and the difficulty to subdue to the terms of nature and death is an important issue. I believe art and art making can react to and counter this. The abstract style of painting allows me to in a playful manner explore feelings and memories and translate them to pictures. Artists in my family inspire me as well and gives me strength to believe it is possible. My great grandfather was a painter. He made everything himself, from creating his own oil colors to building frames. My great uncle is an accomplished sculptor working in America.
Self-taught, no formal art education.
Educated carpenter and bachelor of social work.

Intuitive painting with emotions as a driving force. Many layers back and forth until the painting emerges. Hopefully catching that right moment when the painting comes alive. I am trying not to think while painting, only thinking and reflecting when pausing or not painting. Letting go of control while painting is important.
