About

I work intuitively with painting, where color and movement serve as vessels for emotions, memories, and dreamlike states. Through sweeping brushstrokes, layered colors, and spontaneous markings, I create images that balance between the abstract and the symbolic. I am fascinated by how the materiality and energy of color can evoke both presence and transience— as if the paintings capture something in motion, something on the verge of emerging or fading away.

Recurring motifs and symbols appear throughout my work—simple forms that act as portals to an inner world. They may be fragments of memory, emotional imprints, or symbols carrying a history I cannot always put into words. I draw inspiration from the shifting states of nature, from landscapes in transformation, and from what lies hidden beneath the surface—things that can only be sensed but never fully grasped. My process is as much an exploration as it is a form of storytelling, where each painting becomes a space to step into and immerse oneself in.

Inspiration

I draw inspiration from nature’s endless transformations—landscapes that breathe, shifting light, water that reflects what lies beyond sight. There is a quiet language in the wind, a rhythm in the changing seasons, a reminder that everything moves yet remains.

Encounters with people leave traces, like brushstrokes on a canvas. A glance, a word, a silence—each holds a story that lingers. Emotions and memories weave themselves into my work, forming patterns of shadow and light, revealing what is felt but not always seen.

Poetry whispers between spaces, its rhythm shaping color and form. Words create openings into the unseen, guiding the movement of paint as verses dissolve into layers of texture and silence.

History speaks through what remains and what has faded. Time leaves its marks—weathered walls, forgotten scripts, echoes of lives once lived. I seek these traces, letting them seep into color, into symbols that feel both ancient and immediate.

Mythology and religion carry stories older than memory, archetypes etched into the human soul. They are doorways to something vast and ungraspable, a bridge between the sacred and the earthly. In my work, these elements intertwine, forming images that balance between presence and mystery.

My painting technique is intuitive and layered, where color, texture, and movement interact to create depth and dynamism. I primarily work with oil and oil pastels on canvas, building up color in multiple layers to give the painting a vibrant and tactile surface. By alternating between broad, sweeping brushstrokes and more precise, intricate markings, I create a balance between spontaneity and structure.

I combine thin, transparent layers with opaque, impasto sections to add variation and complexity to the paintings. Often, I allow earlier layers to emerge by thinning the paint or scraping away parts of the surface, creating a raw and organic quality. This technique fosters a sense of movement and transformation, as if the painting exists in a constant state of formation and dissolution.

Beyond brushes, I use palette knives, rags, and sometimes my hands to vary the texture of the surface. Oil pastels allow me to introduce graphic elements—lines, symbols, or details that break up color fields and add another dimension to the composition. I strive for a dynamic interplay where airy, translucent areas meet denser, more saturated sections, creating a rhythm and a sense of depth.

Simple, graphic symbols often reappear in my work, serving as visual keys or focal points within the composition. By balancing the intuitive with the deliberately placed, I create a rhythm and a narrative within each painting.

My painting process is intuitive and exploratory, where each work emerges in a balance between spontaneity and contemplation. I begin without a fixed idea, allowing the first layer of color to set the tone. From there, I respond to what appears on the canvas—adding, reducing, building up, and breaking down. By working in layers, I create depth and movement, where some areas remain raw and transparent while others become more saturated and dense.

I use broad, sweeping brushstrokes alongside intricate markings to create dynamism and rhythm. Simple, graphic forms often emerge—symbolic elements that act as visual keys or focal points within the composition. These may appear spontaneously or recur throughout my work, such as a red chair, a white curve, or a structure that disrupts the more organic forms.

Between the layers of paint, an ongoing dialogue takes place—I add, blur, scrape away, and build up again. I see the process as an act of listening rather than strict planning, allowing the painting to reveal what it needs. This approach requires both presence and patience, and I often step back to view the work with fresh eyes.

Physical movement plays an essential role in my practice. I paint standing, move around the canvas, and let my body be part of the process. This gives the paintings a sense of energy and transformation, as if they exist in a state of constant motion.
