About

My name is Seda Semieva, and my pseudonym is S.Alex (formed from the first letters of my first name and patronymic). I am 35 years old. For the last five years, I have been living in Sweden with my family. I have two daughters, I am learning the language, and in my free time I paint—it allows me to feel happy during difficult times.

Inspiration

Life itself is my primary source of inspiration—a falling leaf, birdsong, my children, an event that deeply moves me, and, of course, my own mind, which tirelessly generates a stream of new ideas and imagery.

Self-taught; partial formal art education.

Underpainting and Line Work: The composition begins with translucent acrylic glazes and linear drawing. Graphic sketches and calligraphic fragments are intentionally left visible, forming the initial conceptual layer.
Modeling Form and Volume: The fast-drying nature of acrylics allows for the swift layering of transparent washes and opaque coats, creating smooth background gradients alongside realistic modeling of light and shadow on the central figures.
Expressive Accents: In the final stage, dynamic painterly techniques are introduced—fluid drips, splatters, and contrasting brushstrokes. Applied directly over the refined areas, they intentionally disrupt the academic precision of the form to heighten the artwork’s emotional intensity.
