About
My name is Jannike Simonsson and I am an artist/framer who lives and works in Stockholm.
I use mostly reused material such as newspapers, photograhps, card board, old reciepts and play a lot with watercolour and pens on top of that. I normally let the material (and the old upcycled frames) lead the way to the motives.
I have a framing shop and art boutique in Lidingö and have a Master's Certificate in framing, besides my artist caréer.
My concept COLLAGE & CAVA has been a sucess, it´s a workshop where I teach collage tecniques and where we have a fun creative moment with wine and art.
Abstrakt II
Inspiration
I like artists like Gösta Adrian Nilsson, Fernand Legér, Otto G Carlsund, Sonia Delauney who lived and worked in the beginning of 1900.
The colours, the figures, the abstract forms. The material it self also inspires me, if I see a beautiful piece of ripped paper for example, I feel the need to use it somehow.
I have spent at lot of time in Lofoten, Norway, where the mountains and big ocean waves have left a mark in my soul.

All sorts of paper and cardboard. Watercolours, pencils.
Some times also textile material.
I glue paper on top of each other, to make an interesting abstract figure. I mix and match colors and lines to make the artpiece dynamic and balanced.
Since my pieces art quite small, I often have a bigger matt board a round, and some times an extra ordinary frame.
