My name is Malin Sahlén. I'm a Swedish artist, based in Stockholm. I create art with oil on canvas using an intuitive layering technique. By creating complex textures and subtle color transitions, I strive to give each piece depth and character. My paintings aim to build a bridge between the personal and the universal, inviting the viewer to reflect on their inner landscape and feel a deeper connection to nature.

Inspiration
My main sources of inspiration come from the beauty of nature, both in external and internal landscapes. I am also inspired by geometry and the infinity of the universe, as well as the spiritual energies that flow through all living things. Through these influences, I aim to create art that sparks reflection and a deeper understanding of the world around us.
My artistic journey has been primarily self-taught, where I have developed my expression and technique through experimentation and continuous learning through my intuition.

My technique is based on a layering method, where I apply oil paint in multiple layers to create depth and texture. Each layer is given time to dry before the next is applied, allowing for complex color blends and subtle transitions between light and shadow. This process gives my work a meditative and dreamlike quality.
I paint intuitively, allowing each piece to evolve organically throughout the process. By working layer by layer, I build up depth and texture in my paintings. I let the colors guide me and strive to create a harmonious balance between light and shadow, where each brushstroke brings a sense of energy and movement. For me, painting is a meditative practice, transferring my energy into the work.
