About
Emma Zetterberg is a Stockholm based artist whose work explores vulnerability, emotion, and the quiet strength found in honesty. Creating has always been her way of staying connected a space where intuition leads and feelings take form. Through soft contrasts and subtle expressions, her paintings reflect the beauty of being human imperfect, present, and real. Emma’s art invites reflection and reminds us that allowing ourselves to feel is, in itself, a form of courage.

Inspiration
My main source of inspiration is life itself the different phases we go through, the emotions we experience, and the memories we carry. From the playfulness of childhood to the challenges of adulthood, I use art as a way to channel both joy and hardship. Vulnerability is at the heart of my creative process. It is something I personally work with every day, and through my art, I explore it as a form of strength rather than weakness.
I am also inspired by the idea of creating spaces that feel warm, safe, and alive. I want art in the home to be more than decoration it should speak to you, motivate you, and remind you of what matters. Every piece I create is a reflection of my own journey, shaped by experiences of loss, love, resilience, and hope.

Currently working as an Art Director
I am currently preparing for my upcoming exhibition at Galleri Kilgissa on November 29. Beyond that, I am in a phase of actively promoting my work, both through social media and networking in Stockholm. After moving here just over a year ago, I feel at home in the city and plan to continue building my artistic presence with more exhibitions and collaborations in the near future.
I mainly work on canvas, often in largescale formats. I love when a painting can take up space in a room and create a strong presence. Lately, I have also been working extensively with frames I see them almost as clothing for the artwork, giving each piece a sense of completeness. In addition to originals, I also create posters and prints, making my art available to a broader audience.
My style is abstract with a focus on texture and depth. I often use neutral tones that fit seamlessly into various spaces, while still standing out as unique statement pieces.
My painting process is intuitive and emotional. I rarely begin with a strict plan; instead, I let the work evolve naturally, guided by what I am feeling in the moment. I experiment with layers, textures, and movement on the canvas until the piece finds its balance. For me, the act of painting is not only about creating something visual but also about releasing emotions and finding clarity.
Each work is a reflection of my inner state sometimes raw, sometimes calm but always authentic. In this way, the process itself becomes a form of healing, and the finished piece an invitation for others to connect with their own emotions.
