About
Natalie K. Sannemalm (b. 1985) is a multidisciplinary artist of West Indian and Tornedalen ancestry. She weaves together a bicultural world of symbolism and colour in her art. Natalie’s current focus is on modern impressionist skylines, intuitive mixed media sketch work, and digital illustrations.
In 2007, Ms. Sannemalm obtained a BFA in Graphic Design, then working for nearly 20 years in a range of medias across the globe for companies including MTV Networks, Audi Prestige and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. She managed an events and services company catering to a range of events and concerts within Bermuda, the Caribbean and the USA.
Now, Natalie has authored Nurture Your Garden: Adult Colouring Book – motivated by the healing beauty of gardening and created during the depths of winter moodiness in Norrbotten.
Natalie thrives best in spaces of solitude, either tucked away on a farmland in St. David’s, Bermuda or deep in the forests of Tornedalen, Sweden. Her days are spent practising sustainability & permaculture methods, studying herbalism, submerged in bodies of water and crafting in the creative kitchen of her studio space. Natalie Sannemalm is a painter, illustrator, farmer and author.

Inspiration
‘’I believe that honouring the simple things in life provides peace of mind. In nurturing the relationship with my natural surroundings, I feel a deep tranquility. Hands in the soil, cleansed in healing waters and gratitude for the sun.”
Natalie’s artwork is a guide and means of self-expression. Her creativity is derived from her transpersonal journey of navigating a bicultural background and a vast collection of life experiences and travels. Working in rhythm with her moon cycle, balancing various projects along with time in nature. She uses art as a therapeutic and meditative practise.
Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design from Miami International University of Art & Design

Painting technique is inspired by an impressionist palette, using pointillism to create a surreal pixelated sky fading into a realistic horizon-line for grounding. Within each piece, I play with depth perspectives through stroke and hues allowing the audience different visuals depending on their proximity.
